Eight years in the making, Soko's second album, Two is finally completed. No longer a working trio, the band is now the writing & recording duo of Houston Ross and Michael Sokolowski.

As a result, each composition inhabits its own discrete world and features its own instrumentation; it could be a simple vocal/piano duet or layered arrangement of strings, horns, guitars, percussion and vocal choir. Tim Reynolds, David Darling, John Gilmore, John D'Earth, and many other wonderful musicians contribute to a panoply of moods, rhythms, melodies, and textures.

As for sonics, the magnificent Steinway B from the Monday record makes a repeat appearance; the music was expertly mixed by Rob Evans of PMD Recording, and the disc was mastered by the great Bob Katz of Digital Domain.

The band will release the new CD on May 17, 2005.

Meanwhile, Breezeway has released two free downloads from the new disc.

We are pleased to announce the first Breezeway Archives recording: the live document of Offering's triumphant 10-year anniversary concert on June 24th, 2001 at Knitting Factory, New York. It was a magical evening, whose high energy and emotion shines through this archival recording -- thanks, in large part, to Greg Howard's tireless and diligent mastering efforts. (Offering is multi-instrumentalists, Tim Reynolds, Michael Sokolowski, and Worth Proffitt. Pictures of the event can be found at Tim Reynold's website.)
